If you know me, I have a few baking and kitchen supplies. However, I have an even longer list of things I want to have in my kitchen.
- Cake boards or cake circles. I always keep a few of these on hand. I use them for cakes, cupcakes, and even crafts!
- Vegetable/Fruit Slicer. I have an apple peeler, but this model seems like a big step up. It has three sets of blades and is even dishwasher safe!
- Gingerbread House Mold. I have not yet ventured into making my own gingerbread, but these molds are very cute. They are silicone, so they are supposed to be easier to unmold and wash.
- Pan Scratch Protector. I have scratched a few pans and taken off the Teflon coating in my baking days. These look like an easy solution. Plus they come in one of my favorite colors!
- Wilton Ultimate Tool Caddy. I love my tool caddy! It keeps my icing tips and other cake/cupcake decorating supplies in one spot. If you have someone who loves to decorate cakes/cookies/cupcakes, this is a great gift.
- Silicone Liner. These are awesome! They are great for baking, placing under pies that might overflow, or even kneading dough on. These are really easy to wash too.
- Creme Brulee Torch. Fire in the kitchen isn't always bad.
- Ramekin Set (6 pc). These are great for cooking small souffles and individual desserts.
- Cake Decorating Turntable. If you have a cake decorating lover in your life, a turntable might be the way to go. I have a short one that works great, but I have to bend over a lot more. This version looks really nice and might go on my 'want' list.
- Cake Caddy. I love my cake caddy. It makes it really easy to transport cakes around and I've never had a problem with mine.
- Icing Colors. These are a lot better than using food coloring, which you can sometimes have to use a lot of to get the right color. If you use the gel colors, you usually only need a really small amount and it won't make the icing too thin.
- Gum Paste Modeling Set. I have the basic set and want to get the larger version. These tools are great for working with gum paste, fondant, and cake decorating. I've used them to make figures, flowers, and small detail work with my cakes.
- Cooling Rack. I love cooling racks. I use them a ton and they are great for cooling off cookies and brownies, or even keeping hot pans and baking dishes off of the counters/table.
- KitchenAid Mixer. I absolutely love my KitchenAid mixer! They are a little large and sit out on the counter, but mixes well, has different speeds and a lot of different options/attachments.
- Brown Sugar Bear/Maple Leaf/Gingerbread. If you don't have one of these yet, you need to get one. I use brown sugar for my oatmeal and in the occasional recipes. However, I don't use it very frequently and it can clump up and hardens. The brown sugar bear is awesome! You soak it in water for about 20 minutes, pat dry, and place in the brown sugar and it keeps it from getting hard.
- Cannoli Forms. I just made my first homemade cannoli's and they were a big hit!
- For the cake decorator, try an airbrush kit! Hubby gave me this one for my birthday this year to expand my cake decorating journey and I had a ton of fun trying it out. I read the reviews and instructions and it is pretty simple to use. I'm still learning and getting the hang of it, but I love it!
