I throw away a ton of toilet paper rolls. I figured there had to be something I could do with them (other than letting the kids use them as telescopes). I came up with a few crafts that recycles the rolls into easy to make crafts. The first one is a flower!
For these simple crafts, you will need:
- Toilet paper rolls
- Green Construction paper
- Construction paper color of your choice for the flowers
- Glue stick or craft glue
- Clothespins, optional
Directions:
- Measure out toilet paper roll length on the green construction paper. I lay the roll down, align the top with the top of the paper, and mark the bottom. I then roll the paper around the roll, allowing a little overlap and mark.
- Cut out "stem" from the construction paper.
- Next, trace out leaves on the green construction paper and cut out.
- Trace and cut out flower shapes.
- Glue the stem paper to the roll. I use clothespins to help hold the paper together while it dries.
- Glue on the leaves and the flower tops!
Here's some of the stencils I used, if you would like to try them.
