For this craft you will need:
- Green construction paper
- Pipe cleaners (black for antennae, green for legs)
- Paint or crayons
- Googly eyes
- Craft glue
- Water or Soda Bottle lids
- Cut out a large leaf shape from the construction paper
- Color the bottle tops with paints or crayons
- Glue tops to construction paper to form the caterpillar shape
- Add on googly eyes
- Add on pipe cleaners for legs and antennae
Option 1: You could use pom poms or puff balls instead of bottle lids.
Note: I used soda bottle lids (the heads), clear lids from water bottles, and even a lid from a bubbles container. The soda lids worked the best. The bubbles container lid worked horribly; it didn't accept the crayon at all. The water bottle lids did ok. If you have older kids, or don't mind them being stained for awhile, I think Sharpies would work on all three.

My 4yo daughter is in a big caterpillar/butterfly stage so she's going to love this. Thanks!
