Today is another wacky food holiday. There are so many options to celebrate Something On A Stick Day!
For Something On A Stick Day, we are having kabobs for lunch. For the sandwich, I cut up pieces of cheese and bread. Then I stuck the bread, cheese, and pieces of lunch meat on a skewer. I added a kabob of green peppers, sugar snap peas, banana, apples, etc. for a side. For a special treat, I made a small kabob of chocolate pieces, a few mini marshmallows, and some graham cookies. (Be careful when inserting skewer into the graham cookie so you don't stab yourself like I did!)
For dinner, I plan on grilling kabobs of chicken or beef (haven't decided which one yet; maybe both), onions, peppers, and mushrooms. For dessert, maybe a a kabob with pieces of fresh fruit, marshmallows, and pieces of chocolate. If kabobs aren't your thing, try corndogs, roasting marshmallows, or even simple popsicles!
My craft plan is to help the kids make puppets by cutting out pictures from coloring books (or printing out coloring pages), letting them color the pictures, and taping to a popsicle stick or skewer. After dinner, they can put on a puppet show!
